Hi Roamers
I’m John Marsden.
I just want to give you some idea of my “experiences” so that you know I am not a novice when it comes to travel-in fact I have been travelling for nearly 45 years!
I started in 1964 with a trip to Europe by the good ship Canberra-then the Pride of the P & O Fleet- hitch hiked through Europe and UK and returned home by air through USA staying and travelling with people I had met in Europe. During this trip I crossed through Checkpoint Charlie between West & East Berlin under the guns of very suspicious East German border guards.
In 1976 I took my family to Europe for a 12 months campervan tour of Europe, but this was cut short by family circumstances which needed us to return home after only 3 months.
In 1981 we did return and complete our 12 month campervan trip.
1989 -a few days in LA followed by a 1 month campervan trip through England, Scotland and Wales.
1994- a 1 month trip by air and car through parts of USA
2003 a 3 months Retirement trip, covering a number of European countries not seen before and returning via USA.
2004 Fiji 1 week
2005 China 4 weeks
2006 Canada- 3 weeks on the western coast
2007 South America & Antarctica-I’ve put my foot on that white continent.
And in between a number of trips around Australia and New Zealand.
I’ve now passed 65-which used to be RETIREMENT and a gold watch-and I want to help others who want to see our wonderful country. I’ve also included New Zealand because of the close relationship between our 2 countries.
Let’s roam Australia

Hi John,
I have just discovered your site and we too have a long standing experience in travel, but within Australia where our passions lie.
I’d like to keep in touch through your email alert to postings for we’d love to see more people sharing Australia with us.
Best wishes,

Hi John,
Thanks for your comment and I’m glad you found my site.
I’m intrigued-did you find it by surfing or a specific search?
I have a couple of sites that I am working on plus a couple of blogs.
The Roamers Club promotes travel world wide, with Australia prominent after the Club itself.
http://www.grey-nomads.org promotes Australia specifically.
I do produce a newsletter once a month and I will add you to the list.
I’ve realised that most people cannot read my blogs regularly so the newsletter is all the months blog information plus any other items
I feel may be useful to readers.
I will put your tours into the blogs this week.
Cheers
John
